Square hollow sections (SHS) from Gram Bangla Tubes Ltd. (GBTL) are square steel tubes for solar structures, construction frames and furniture in Bangladesh. Standard SHS sizes on quote are SHS 20x20, 25x25, 40x40, 50x50, 60x60 and 75x75 mm, with walls from 0.8 to 4.0 mm. Solar and construction sizes come GP pre-galvanized or MS black, with hot dip galvanizing on request. Furniture sizes come cold rolled black or GP pre-galvanized, ready for powder coating.
GBTL also makes SS 201 and SS 304 box pipe from 12 to 100 mm, in 20 ft (6.1 m) lengths. Solar and construction sizes start at 2 MT, furniture sizes at 1 MT, and custom sizes at 20 MT. Standard MS and GP box pipe is sold through district dealers.

What is the difference between SHS and RHS steel tubes?
SHS, or square hollow section, has four equal sides, such as SHS 40x40 mm. RHS, or rectangular hollow section, has a longer and a shorter side, such as RHS 50x100 mm. SHS is equally stiff in both directions, so it suits posts and bracing. RHS is stiffer when set with its deeper side upright, so it suits beams that bend mainly one way.

GBTL makes SHS 40x40, 50x50, 60x60 and 75x75 mm for solar mounting structures in Bangladesh. Solar SHS walls run from 2.0 to 4.0 mm, and the 4.0 mm wall is offered on SHS 75x75 mm only. Standard solar SHS sizes have a 2 MT minimum order. Any other SHS size needs a full coil run of 20 MT.
