Gram Bangla Tubes Ltd. (GBTL) makes steel pipe for water supply, gas and utility networks in Bangladesh. Hot dip galvanized GI pipe covers supply and service lines from 12 to 300 mm OD. For transmission mains, GBTL makes spiral SSAW pipe up to 3600 mm OD and LSAW pipe from 300 to 2500 mm OD.
Every batch goes through in-house hydrostatic, weld, dimensional and mechanical testing. Batches are marked for traceability, and mill test certificates are available on request. Standard GI pipe comes through district dealers, with bulk orders from 20 MT supplied direct by the mill. Spiral and LSAW pipe is made to project specification and quoted per project.

What to specify
GI pipe for water supply lines
GI pipe is hot dip galvanized after forming, so zinc coats the bore as well as the outside. The inside coating protects the surface that carries water. The GI range covers 12 to 300 mm OD in 1.0 to 8.0 mm wall. Order small quantities of GI pipe through your local GBTL dealer. For 20 MT or more, GBTL supplies GI pipe straight from the mill.
Spiral SSAW pipe for water transmission mains
GBTL is the only SSAW spiral pipe mill in Bangladesh. Diameters run from 273 to 3600 mm OD, in wall thickness from 3.0 to 25.0 mm. These large diameters suit bulk water transmission mains. Each order is made to your specification for diameter, wall and length. List any coating or lining requirement in your enquiry, with the quantity in MT and the delivery district.
LSAW pipe for gas and water transmission
LSAW pipe has one straight seam, made by submerged arc welding along its length. GBTL makes LSAW pipe from 300 to 2500 mm OD, in 3.0 to 17.0 mm wall. The LSAW range serves gas and water transmission projects that are built to a project specification. Send that specification, including steel grade and coating, for review on quote. GBTL LSAW pipe was also used for foundation piling on the Padma Multipurpose Bridge.
Testing, traceability and documents
Hydrostatic testing is done in house on every batch, along with weld, dimensional and mechanical checks. Each batch carries a mark for traceability. Mill test certificates are supplied on request, so list them in your enquiry. GBTL holds ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification and is BSTI and BUET certified. Tell GBTL which documents your client or consultant needs, so they can be confirmed on quote.
