Gram Bangla Tubes Ltd. (GBTL) offers hot dip galvanizing in Bangladesh, on request, for its solar and construction steel sections. The service follows ISO 1461, with a target zinc coat of 85 micron. GBTL confirms the achievable coat for each section thickness on quote. The zinc goes on after fabrication, so cut ends made before galvanizing are coated too.
ISO 1461 minimums rise with steel thickness. The minimum mean coat is 55 micron on 1.5 to 3 mm steel and 70 micron over 3 to 6 mm. Only steel over 6 mm carries an 85 micron minimum. GBTL solar sections are 2.0 to 4.5 mm wall, so 85 micron is a target above the minimum. Request it with your section order, in MT.

Not always, because 85 micron is a target for GBTL hot dip galvanizing to ISO 1461. GBTL confirms the achievable coat per section thickness on quote. The ISO 1461 minimum mean coat is 55 micron for 2.0 to 3.0 mm sections. For 3.2 to 4.5 mm sections, the minimum is 70 micron.
What is the difference between pre-galvanized (GP) and hot dip galvanized steel?
Pre-galvanized (GP) steel is formed from strip that was zinc coated first, so cut ends and the weld seam need protection outdoors. Hot dip galvanized steel is dipped in molten zinc after fabrication, which coats it inside, outside and at cut ends made before dipping. GBTL offers GP as a standard finish and hot dip galvanizing on request.
