Water transmission mains

Water mains that move a city. Large diameter steel carries more water per run than the smaller pipes it replaces and handles surge pressure well. Intakes and outfalls built for rivers. Raw water intakes and effluent outfalls sit in moving water, soft beds and changing levels. Spiral pipe gives the diameter and stiffness these lines need, in lengths that can be floated, pulled or laid from a barge. Force mains that stay tight. Pumped sewage needs pipe that resists pressure, surge and internal corrosion. Lined steel force mains take higher pressures than gravity sewer materials and can be welded into continuous, leak resistant runs. Drains and culverts for monsoon cities. Waterlogging costs Dhaka and Chattogram every monsoon. Large spiral pipe makes quick culverts under roads and embankments, and drains that need little excavation time. It is lighter than concrete of the same bore, so it is easier to lift and place on congested sites.

Pipe sheet pile cofferdams. Interlocked steel pipe piles form watertight cofferdams and permanent pier foundations in deep rivers. GBTL rolls pipe in the diameters these walls use. Interlock fabrication and splicing are scoped per project.

Casings for crossings without cutting the road. HDD, pipe jacking and micro tunnelling need casing pipe that is round and has square ends. GBTL supplies casing for utility crossings under highways, railways and rivers, cut to jacking lengths and bevelled for welding. Local supply keeps crossings on schedule.

Penstocks for small and mid hydro. Penstocks carry water under high head to turbines and need high weld quality. Spiral pipe provides long, stiff sections in large diameters. Dredge and slurry lines that keep rivers open. Capital and maintenance dredging pumps sand through long pipelines that wear from the inside. Steel spiral pipe with a wear allowance and flanged ends is quick to assemble, move and replace. We supply dredging and land reclamation contractors with pipe cut and flanged to order.
